Until now, you had no control on the information being delivered to your inbox. Sure, filters do help. But, remember the time they filtered out the project proposal your boss sent you? What if you were given a chance to shuttle to the source of the information and choose only the information that you wanted?
Why have functions and menus at the top of the page? Functions and menus must appear intuitively as and when a user wants them. Colayer presents the IdeaWeaver Shuttle®. The shuttle is the small link that appears when you click anywhere on a page or within a Comty. It provides you with context-sensitive functions and features needed at the reference point.
The IdeaWeaver shuttle is powerful tool to organize your ideas and contextualize your information. You can also access advanced features within the shuttle with the help of the expanded shuttle. The expanded shuttle provides you with the options of conveying your emotions through Expression Sems, uploading HTML within a message, creating a meeting Sem within a presentation or vice-versa.

WYSIWYG Shuttle®
This shuttle mode allows user to directly input text on the community space without using any specific object. It is readily available for you once you have clicked on a section or on some content.
The WYSIWYG shuttle is represented by a blinking cursor that appears with your username. You can simply start typing some new information or comment to an existing object and then press the Enter button to submit. This shuttle mode enables users to submit information in the message format only.
Standard Shuttle®
Click the (shuttle) link. A green menu bar appears. This is the Standard Shuttle®. The Standard Shuttle® allows you to access the most frequently required Sems like News, Discussion, File, etc. You can also use the Standard Shuttle® to mark a Sem.
To go back to the WYSIWYG shuttle mode from the Standard Shuttle® mode, move your mouse over the [|] symbol, which is on the extreme left corner of the shuttle.
Expanded Shuttle®
Access the Expanded Shuttle® by clicking the [+] symbol next to the File Sem on the Standard Shuttle®. You will see a list of different Sems that are available for your Semantic needs. The Standard section contains a list of Sems used in a standard work-flow or collaborative discussions. The expressions section contains the more emotive part of discussions and contains expressive Sems ranging from Agreement to Anger.
Select the desired Sem and enhance the meaning of your message through appropriate Semantics.
To go back to the WYSIWYG shuttle mode from the Expanded Shuttle® mode, move your mouse over the [|] symbol, which is on the extreme left corner of the shuttle.
Power Shuttle®
The Power Shuttle® is a short cut to the most important spots on Colayer. You can access your Times® Page, sign-out from a Comty; search for a Sem, access the help pages. If you have administrator or owner access on a Sem/Comty/Page, you can also avail of the sort feature and sort the indented Sems.
To access the Power shuttle, click the Orange square at the far right. To go back to the WYSIWYG shuttle mode from the Power Shuttle® mode, move your mouse over the [|] symbol, which is on the extreme left corner of the shuttle.
The Colayer platform is inspired by the LEGO philosophy: “The most complex of structures is founded on the simplest of things.” The Internet is virtually a huge collection of LEGO blocks all waiting to be assembled and structured. The Colayer platform gives you the freedom and the space to structure the Web the way you want it.
Sem is a native word for a Colayer Semantic Object. A Sem is the building block of the collaborative web. Everything that you see on this page is a Colayer Sem. This paragraph is a Para Sem. The box on the right hand side, containing the Help guides on the right hand side, is an HTML Sem.
Use Colayer Sems to post the latest News items, construct and have discussions, present your opinions and suggestions, show your excitement, share the lighter side of life. Colayer offers Sems for virtually every emotion that you can experience and virtually every Sem that can constitute a collaborative approach. You can choose from a variety of emotions starting from News items to Emotions. Sems allow you to create Headlines and Express Disappointment. Criticize, Appreciate, Thank, and Wish - in short, live and collaborate virtually.
The word "Comty" is Colayer's term for describing the micro-communities on the platform. These micro-communities (Comties) define the various work zones on the platform where people with particular interests exchange information. For instance the work zone for the 'Marketing team' would be the 'Marketing Comty’
On the layer, communities can either be public and visible to all users or they can be restricted. In general, the vast majority of communities are open to all users. Every new user on the layer is unregistered to all Comties by default. Users with Trial spaces are registered to their Personal Comties by default. Updates to the Comties to which you have registered, appear on your Times® Page, in real-time.
Comties may also be access-restricted, i.e. only specific users have an access to those Comties. For example the "Management Comty" may be restricted to the “Marketing Team”.
Unlike other platforms, which provide only two levels of access, Moderator and Public, the Colayer platform provides six different levels/roles of access on all the Sems. These are:
· Administrator
· Owner
· Provider
· Observer
· Viewer
· No access
You can refer to the Admin guide to understand the Access Structure better.
There are two ways of subscribing to a community, either by receiving and accepting an invitation or by surfing the structure and individually selecting the desired community.
You can choose to personally register to a community that doesn’t appear on your Times Page. Access the Site Map. The Comties, to which you haven’t registered, are shown in grey. Navigate to the Comty to which you would like to register and then click the red “Register” link on the Top left. Alternatively, you can manually select the Comty from the navigation structure and click on the “Register” link in the Comty view.
Your daily newspaper of recent activities on the Layer.
The Times® Page is where you begin. It shows you what has been added since you were last online. It is not necessary to read everything before one starts to interact. Also, interaction can take place right on the Times® Page; it is automatically inserted in the Comty, in the corresponding context.
The "Times® Page" provides you with a daily summary of all the activities that have occurred on the layer since your last login. The Times® Page is the first view you see after login, which enables you to have an overview of all the information that has been exchanged within the communities you have an access to. The advantage of the Times® Page View is that it reduces the time you spend to access and retrieve new information.
An additional advantage of the Times® Page is that the information updates are maintained in context of the subject matter in the appropriate Comties. Moreover, you can directly comment to the information on the Times® Page itself without having to further drill down to the specific Comties. The comments you upload on your Times® Page, are automatically reflected in the specific Comty view as well.
Each of the green horizontal bars on the Times® Page represents a Colayer Comty. Any new information exchanged within these specific Comties appears directly on your Times® Page underneath the bar representing that Comty. You must be registered to the respective Comties for the updates to appear on the Times® Page.
