Imagine, you are in an important meeting…
… and you simply need some numbers from one of your colleagues. He however is traveling and currently not reachable by phone or via email. Hence, you send him or her an SMS, as well as an email within the context. And as soon as he gets either, he will answer you, for example, with his iPhone through email, or on Colayer with the phone web browser. And maybe he attaches a graphic to his answer. His answer goes back into the exact context, and you get an alert during the ongoing meeting and are able to discuss the numbers.
Or you are developing a report for the board for example: You create a new section for this task and start writing. While developing the report, you may need the latest sales data from a person currently not reachable. So you send him an SMS, out of this report. He writes you the sales data back and you integrate it. Then, you may have one paragraph in the report, which other team members need to write. So, you place an explanation of how to develop this paragraph and call them to that place of the report. Finally, you may need also the latest market data. The researcher is external and maybe not on Colayer, so you send him an email from within the report. The response from the researcher is fed back into the report.

| Colayer Key Features |
| Real time communication and workplaces |
|
Colayer is a platform to share knowledge, work together in teams and coordinate in real time. With Colayer, you can discuss daily problems, new ideas, projects and work together - whatever we do typically with email today. But email is not real time. And with email, people work 'isolated' within their email inboxes. Information gets fragmented: within different email inboxes, and across different tools.

The Overview: Times pageProfessionals today of course work in many teams and projects at the same time. So, they will soon have a problem to find out, what is going on within the different places: What is new? What is important and relevant for me? Colayer provides one overview page for this: After login, “the times page” is displayed: Your personal newspaper with all updates of your business communications, according to your profile, as well as according to your chosen preferences. And of course this page is structured like a newspaper: in context and easy to read.In one team for example, you are a core member. Colayer in your overview updates you about all content related to this team: Discussions, drafts, todos, open tasks, agenda dates, set targets etc. The content comes in different forms: if two members chat together, you will probably not care about the small talk, so you get only a summary of the chat, and on interest, you can see the details of it.
In another project, you may be involved as a supervisor only. On your overview, only important content will appear: Final documents, decisions taken and milestones reached.Communication through the times page is faster and more effective than through email inboxes. Information is in context, spam free and consistent (single copy).
