The Comties

The word "Comty" is short for Community, each green bar on the "Times page" represents a community or in the case of an organisation a department. The name of the comty appears on the extreme left of the green bar. These comties define the various work spaces on the Colayer platform where people who are directly related with or have interest in those comties interact. For instance the work space for the 'Marketing department' would be the 'Marketing' comty.

The comties can either be public or private, if public they will be visible to all users and if private they can be restricted. In general, the vast majority of communities are open to all users. Every new user on the layer is automatically registered to a certain number of communities according to his/her profile. However, there are some comties that are accessible to all but do not automatically appear on the times page of new users unless the users register to those communities personally.

Where as for restricted comties only specific users have an access to those comties, for example the "Management comty" will be visible to only people who have access.

The comty can be expanded by clicking on the comty name and the user then is taken into the comty view or the workspace of that comty as shown below.
